DaVinci's paintings are a nightmare to maintain because he was interested in the science of painting, experimenting with making his own pigments. Turns out his pigments weren't great for lasting a long time. In that sense, even he got his arse kicked, but he was in the arena.

In filmmaking, you have many more tools to master than pigments, brushes, and canvas. So expect it to take time, but keep chipping away. Everything yields to time and effort.

We have quite a lot of content on the platform to get you comfortable with the idea (I'd recommend this video in Introduction to Resolve), but as I've been getting into a groove putting together cheat sheets/work sheets recently, I thought this would be the perfect topic to create an interactive sheet to help you get your head around it.

The idea is to understand the key concepts that we're working with, rather than specifically how to work in a colour management way in Resolve or Blender. If this is a totally new concept to you, it might be a stretch to understand it, but give it a go. If you've been round the houses once already and want to cement your understanding of colour management, I think it'll be perfect.
